This model was the first 12-string artist signature model to be released by Rickenbacker. There are two versions: one equipped with standard electronics; the other, sometimes designated by the "E" suffix, equipped with a specially designed active electronic circuit that has controls for various levels of compression - an on-board compressor - as well as separate volume controls for each of the three toaster-top pickups. Both versions were issued with a 12-saddle adjustable bridge, first introduced on this model. Issued in limited quantities of Mapleglo, Fireglo and Jetglo finishes, total production was 1000. With letter from RIC confirming authenticity, a RIC pamphlet explaining the model's controls and electronics and original hard shell case.
