Here’s a 4001 that has been played and also has the new style rectangular bridge pickup surround that replaced the “tapered tail” surround on the 4000/1 models in late 1968. The rectangular treble pickup surround is still the style for the modern Rick basses today. Although showing playing wear, this bass is a fine example which sounds great.
