This model was the first 12-string artist signature model to be released by Rickenbacker. There are two versions: one equipped with standard electronics; the other, sometimes designated by the "E" suffix, equipped with a specially designed active electronic circuit that has controls for various levels of compression - an on-board compressor - as well as separate volume controls for each of the three toaster-top pickups. Both versions were issued with a 12-saddle adjustable bridge, first introduced on this model. Issued in limited quantities of Mapleglo, Fireglo and Jetglo finishes, total production was 1000. With original hard shell case and pamphlet explaining the model's controls and electronics.
